| Swatch Group vows to absolve itself in Swiss antitrust probe |

The Swiss Competition Commission (COMCO), the countrys competition oversight watchdog, has launched an investigation against the Swatch Group unit ETA Manufacture Horlogere SA Suisse for a potential abuse of a dominant market position. Reports of the investigation appeared on the Commissions website. A pre-investigation indicated signs ETA had abused its dominant position in the market for mechanical clockworks, the Competition Commission said. A Swatch spokeswoman however said she was confident the results of the probe would clear the fog over the Group and re-establish its adherence to ethical business practices. |

| Chatila Jewellerys boutique looted in Geneva |
Four armed thieves recently held up a jewellery store on Genevas most prestigious high street grabbing an estimated millions of dollars worth of gems and escaping on scooters, the 75-year old Lebanes owner, Elie Chatila told a local daily. The men, wearing hats and wigs and speaking in some Slavic language, smashed display cases in the daytime robbery and decamped on scooters. A female employee set off an alarm, but the thieves fled before the police arrived, the police said in a statement. The authorities are examining fingerprints and DNA found on the crime scene. |

Maximilian Busser & Friends (MB&F) has made its contribution to through a 16-month quest to create, develop and craft an amazing, unique timepiece to help combat muscular dystrophy. There is a butterfly trapped in the movement of this very special Horological Machine. It has no hope of escaping and the barbed wire enmeshing the complicated movement intensifies its plight. The designer is American artist Sage Vaughn and it will be auctioned at Only Watch, the charity auction to benefit research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to be held in Monaco on 24 September 2009 under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II. |

| Rivoli targets ambitious Middle East, India expansion plans despite recession |

Despite the current economic recession, top UAE-based and GCC luxury lifestyle goods retailer Rivoli, nurtures ambitious expansion plans for Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Morocco & India. In an interview with a local UAE daily, Adel Al Zarouni, Managing Director, Rivoli was upbeat about the companys partnership with the Swatch Group and Dubai International Capital (DIC), who together hold a 50 percent stake in the company. According to Al Zarouni, the company aims to have between 60 to 80 retail outlets in the first phase of the business expansion to reach up to 300 stores within three years. Rivoli imports, distributes and retails more than 60 international luxury brands of high-end watches and accessories but 70 percent of its business is watches. |

100+ year-old Swiss Concord Watches has announced the recent opening of its first shop-in-shop worldwide in the Middle East. The 7.47 m X .5 m store is located on the upscale Sitteen Street in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh and was inaugurated in partnership with Al Ghazali, distributors of the brand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. |

In 2008, Frederique Constant organized Passion Awards for the second year and presented it to Mrs. Laura Cotton, the founder of Paint A Smile.
