| Regional CEOs see recovery, across the Middle East Region |

According to the Pricewaterhouse Coopers (Pwc), the majority of Middle East CEOs are positive that the region is on the way to economic recovery. Over 80 percent of the Middle East CEOs said they are confident of their prospects in the next 12 months, PwC added. On the other hand, some business leaders polled in the firms Annual Global CEO Survey, urge caution against overconfidence, suggesting the path to the new paradigm may not always be smooth. |

| Lebanons economy will grow by 5.8 percent in 2010. |
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) predicts that Lebanon’s economy will grow by 5.8 percent this year and 5.5 percent in 2011, according to a recent report published by The Daily Star. The EIUs projections, published by Bank Audi Weekly Monitor, also say that the export of goods and services is likely to remain Lebanon’s primary drivers of growth, as the country profits from improved economic expansion in the region. |

| Harry Winstons Sales recorded a +13 percent in 4Q |

Harry Winston reported that its consolidated revenues during the fourth quarter, which ended on January 31, rose 13 percent to $133.7 million. Harry Winston posted a net loss of $3.4 million for the period against a loss of $73 million in 2009. The company retail sales in the fourth quarter rose 4 percent to $70.2 million. |

| Movado Groups sales fell by 2 percent in Q 4. |
The Movado Group sales fell by 2 percent to $92.2 million in the fourth quarter and the brand recorded a net loss of $23.6 million. The company’s turnover declined by 18 percent to $378.4 million and it posted a net loss of $54.6 million compared with a profit of $2.3 million in 2008. |

| Dreyfuss Group recorded 50 percent upturn and opens office in the Middle East |

The Dreyfuss Group recorded a 24 percent increase in sales in 2009. Watches under the Rotary label, the group’s main brand, performed very well on the market, achieving a 50 percent upturn in value in December despite of the economic crisis. Dreyfuss Group has recently opened their office in Dubai. |

| The Dubai Graff jewellery thieves will be extradited to the UAE |
Known as the Pink Panther robbers, the three prime suspects on Graff jewellery store in Wafi mall who fled with jewellery valued at Dh15 million will be extradited and hand over to Dubai police. The gang is known to be dangerous diamond thieves and have more than 200 members, many of them well educated. According to Major Saeed Abdullah Al Saadi, deputy director of the Wanted Persons Department at Dubai Police, the three Yugoslav suspects would be extradited from European countries after serving their jail sentences. One of the suspects is expected to be extradited soon. |

| French Watch making loses ground |

Despite the economic crisis, the French watch making and jewellery market enjoyed a degree of stability in 2009. Sales of watches were down however. According to the recent 2009 survey of Comite Franceclat and Societe 5Gfk, French production of watches and jewellery recorded a 17 percent drop in value last year to 1.8 billion Euros. For watch making, down 18 percent to 230 million, the sector of watch components was particularly hard hit by the decline in orders from large Swiss customers. |

| LVMH watch, jewelry sales up 34 percent in Q1 |
According to the recent financial statement of yesterday the LVMH Groups Watch and jewelry sales division has rebounded strongly in the first quarter 2010. This positive results of their Watch & Jewellery divisions have surpassed the increases in the company’s other luxury categories, including fashion and leather goods. |

For the 17th time in succession now, the specialist magazine Armbanduhren, together with the Welt am Sonntag, called upon its readers to vote for their favourite timepieces. A total of 159 timepieces were nominated in the category of mens watches. The votes could be submitted either by postcard or online. Shortly before the announcement of the winner, the excitement in the room rose to fever pitch: Peter Braun, chief editor of Armbanduhren, recently revealed that the Senator Chronometer had been chosen as Watch of the Year 2010, during the yearly event that was held at Basle. A total of 11,147 readers took part in the vote. Of these, 637 voted for the Senator Chronometer as winner. |

Tissot has launched a new international design competition and is inviting creative thinkers from all over the world to participate. However the competition is not to design a timepiece rather, its to present ideas for watch displays of the future. With the aim of generating inspiring and unexpected input from individuals outside of the watch industry, the company is seeking entries from talented students or people working in design, architecture or related creative disciplines, and is requesting design submissions for a new window display concept for the brand.
